TESTING YOUR ENGINES

Easy to Test

In order to get an accurate measurement of your actual fuel economy, we recommend the following steps.

Three Tanks, without your ECO System
Before the ECO System is installed run three full tanks of fuel, and get your average miles per gallon.

If you always record your fuel use, you probably already know the miles per gallon your vehicle gets, but if you want a true calculation, please review our testing procedures. They are not complicated, they just allow good comparisons.

Some notes on the testing. Please use the same fuel source/gas station, and try to fill to the same place in your tank. Some pumps will cut off as 'full' a gallon shorter than others, so to be consistent, try and use the same pump. Some fuel formulations differ, and to be accurate, the same source is best.

Ethanol
Depending on where you drive, gasoline may have ethanol added. A long trip cross country is not always a good test for the ECO Fuel Saver, since you will have gasoline from several different sources, and different formulations.

Brands
Since we are in the business of fuel savings, we are always studying the MPG our customers get. We have found that different brands of gasoline provide different MPG - before the ECO System install. Using the same brand and station will give you a better comparison.

Diesel
We have found that diesel fuel is more consistent across the country, and long distance tests are more accurate than gasoline engine tests. That said, the more consistent the source, the more accurate.

With your ECO System
After installing the ECO System, fill up your vehicle and note your miles per gallon next time you fill up. You should see a 10% or greater improvement in fuel economy. For example if your vehicle averaged 10 mpg without the ECO System, you should be getting 11 mpg or greater using the installed ECO System. You would then have a 10% improvement in fuel economy.

The Computer
If your vehicle has a miles-per-gallon computer display, it may not reflect the correct MPG for a few tanks. Your pumped fuel usage is the true test.

Test Procedure
We recommend that when evaluating the ECO System for commercial purposes that a minimum of five vehicles be selected. This will enable your company to obtain a good performance analysis of the vehicles equipped with the ECO Fuel Enhancer. Of course, if the fleet has different type equipment, more than one test/analysis may be necessary for estimating overall fuel savings.

Performance
In many cases, the ECO improves performance, and drivers notice it, and push harder. This affects fuel use, so awareness during the test is useful. If trip time is reduced from before, it's useful to record that. We've seen this in heavy load applications like mining trucks and police cars.
